All Saints North Street York

The story

Pataki Tiles conduct a great deal of research into reconstruction, looking at
floor and wall tile techniques, materials and coatings in particular. It was
for this reason that we were asked to reproduce the original inlay artisan
floor tiles for All Saints’ Church on North Street in York, the originals of
which were made in the 14 th century.

Historic York church is back to its 14th century glory after an 18-month restoration process. Lady Chapel restored to the way it was in 1421 when an anchoress – or hermit – had visions of the Virgin Mary in the church. The churchwardens at All Saints said: ,,The floor looks absolutely stunning, much better than any of us ever thought.”
