The story

The Budavári Jamie’s Italian is Jamie’s first Central-European restaurant and is situated in the beautiful historical Buda Castle district in Budapest, Hungary. The location and design of the sparkling Buda site is an attractive place for visitors.

In accordance with the design team’s vision, the entire counter was covered with unique hexagonal craft ceramics. An explicit request was for the counter tiles of the counter to reflect on the roof tiles of the opposing Matthias church, the colours of which are reflected by our glazed ceramics.

Colour labs and colour patterns were tried before the colour-palette was completed and as a result the covering was made of off-white, ochre yellow, green and black, the patterns of which also responded to the roof tiles of the church.

Following the tradition of Jamie’s cuisine, handicrafts and individually made products are also shown in the interior. The world-renowned Jamie and its wide-ranging design concept for restaurants are also exemplary in the Budapest restaurant. Our tiles are a unique craft example of an existing local pattern in the history of the restaurant chain.
