The story

2017 London BBC House Hotel by Soho House Group, bathroom covering

White City, this district of West-London gives home to the BBC headquarters with its several BBS studios and international offices.  This specific area includes Westfield Mall, new dwelling houses and a new university.

The 45-room hotel in the BBC-centre was rebuilt from the former television headquarters, keeping its original mid-century design style. The generous spaces, the reception lobby and the rooms all reflect a unified look. There is a swimming pool on the roof for maximum relaxation.

The design team adapted the design of handicraft tiles to the style of accessories and furniture made in the 50’s and 60’s.

The house has three different sized – large, medium and tiny – bathrooms and we created special tiles for them.

The large bathrooms were decorated with shiny glazed white small size elongated hexagon tiles with tiny mint green decors. The white-and-mint green pairing comes back on the furniture and the shiny elements of the mirror frames.

The medium-sized bathrooms are also decorated with shiny glazed apple green and white tiles while decors were made with hand-painted concentric circles. For this design we made 2400 pcs of individually painted decors.

The small bathrooms were built with a black-and-white classical tiny shower cabin where also the circle decors were applied, the surface of which reminds us the structure of vinyl records. The black and white alternating ribs make the compilation exciting.
